ReZoom™Intraocular Lens (IOL)

What is ReZoom™

ReZoom Multifocal Lens IOLThe ReZoom™ Intraocular Lens (IOL) is a clear and foldable multifocal lens implant that is designed to give good vision across varying distances and light conditions after cataract treatment. This allows for patients to see near, intermediate, and at a distance, unlike monofocal lenses that mostly only provide the ability to see at a distance without the aid of glasses.

The ReZoom™ lens has multiple focal points so the patient can see well at several distances in several light conditions. This IOL uses Balanced View Optics™ Technology, which is five specifically proportioned visual zones designed for different light conditions and focal distances. These zones are proportioned to provide vision at multiple distances and light conditions.

Are You a Candidate for ReZoom™

If you are diagnosed with cataracts and are experiencing one or more of the following symptoms, you may be a candidate for the ReZoom™ Multifocal Lens:

  • Difficulty reading
  • Difficulty seeing close objects
  • Difficulty seeing to drive, especially at night
  • Changing glasses prescriptions
  • Needing bifocals

What is a Cataract

The natural lens of the human eye is made mostly of water and protein, and sometimes this protein can bond together. This causes vision to become discolored and a bit milky. This is called a cataract and can cause the rays of light passing through the eye to become scattered and unfocused. If left untreated, cataracts can lead to blindness, but this is very rare in the United States.

The only treatment for cataracts is to remove the natural lens from the eye and replace it with a lens implant or intraocular lens (IOL). This allows the patient to see without the obstruction of the cataract.
